A Builder for the Homes in Between

For decades, most residential lots in Snohomish County and North King County could hold exactly one house. Washington's middle housing law changed that, and suddenly thousands of ordinary owners could build two, four or six homes where one stood. What most of them lacked was a builder who did this kind of work every day.

ZH Construction was set up to be that builder. We work on one category of project: attached and small multi-unit homes on infill lots.

What We Believe

Numbers before drawings
A project that does not pencil is not worth designing. Every engagement starts with a pro forma.
Fit the neighborhood
New homes should look like they belong on the street. That makes permits smoother and resale stronger.
One accountable team
Design coordination, permits and construction under one contract, one project manager and one schedule.
Plain answers
If a lot is a poor candidate, we say so in the first conversation.
03

How We're Organized

Pre-construction
feasibility, budgets, design coordination and permits.
Field operations
project managers and superintendents who run each site daily.
Trade partners
long-term framing, concrete, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and finish subcontractors who know multi-unit details.
Closeout and warranty
final inspections, unit lot recording support, and the one-year warranty walk-through.
